3M Ultra-Thin Water Contact Indicator Tape 5559 is a contact indicator tape with specific properties to quickly and accurately detect the presence of water. The product has a highly absorbent paper backing, which allows easy passage of water to result in a rapid color change from white to red when exposed to water. The acrylic adhesive is suitable for bonding to a variety of materials, including low surface energy plastics like polypropylene and powder-coated materials.

This product is ultra-thin, making it suitable for use in slim electronics where space is limited. The product is fully rotary die-cuttable without a film top layer, making it easy to convert to different shapes depending on the intended use. The product is also resistant to heat and humidity, which means it does not give false readings. The product is also printable with laser and inkjet printers, making it easy to identify when the need arises.
